Boxing Lighting

My idea is to produce street lights powered by dynamo. This stand-alone lighting would basically run itself and also not use any electrical wiring, so that the lights can be placed virtually anywhere. Cities, villages, islands, everywhere. Both government and private persons (as an extra to the city treasury, the government might account for the production and sales) could put up streetlights of this variety. If the LED is used for lighting are also sufficient these lights an entire lifetime.

Funstainable Floor Electrogenerator

Based on the theories of Coulomb summarizing:
"when a magnetic field is cut by a conductive material a displacement of electrons takes place"
Our checked project is to place self-adhesive imams in the soles of the shoes,
When these shoe-imams move on the tiles that contains the reels, electricity flows are generated
that will be added to other tiles, through simple electronic reducers of voltage and current it will store this energy in batteries.

Paper Toilet

In the city, metro, conventions , It is very common to find magazines, flyers and newspapers mixed in the garbage if not in the floor... when there are the first paper we could easily recycle!!! The PAPER TOILET serves to recuperate in a funny way all these papers by sitting on this special toilet like in a regular one, putting the papers in the middle of the "p" hole, and just flushing.... it's flawless!!!!
- It´s very simple, based in a daily symbol with a strong signification
- The 'P' for paper adapted as a sign in the ergonometric shape of the chair, to be seen from far away

Tap Bomb

Have you ever notice that: when people open the tap, do they use the water or just do something like brush their teeth or stylish their hair but open the tap without conscious. They just unconsiously waste the water resource. We need something can remind them: you should be awareness of saving the water. We would like to design a tap built in a “bomb”. When people open the tap, they must wash their hands and turn off it within 7 seconds. Otherwise, the led display shall show explosion and sound serious warning.

Many people read comics rather than reading dictionaries.. However, dictionary has more useful informations. So if we make the dictionary that is talking when we filp the page,or touching the book, than many people will rather read dictionary than comics. Submitted by Mom.

Alarm Crosswalk

Alarm Crosswalk

2009-11-19 13:22 - 0 Comments

The idea is to avoid people crossing the walks on red lights. Too many people cross the crosswalks on redlights when there are not cars. My idea consist on installing a sensor on the floor on each site of crosswalk that will detect when people put a foot on the crosswalk and it is red light. If someone crosses the street, a speaker will make a sound and a light on the opposite site of the crosswalk will flash the pedestrian so he/she will realize that is not allowed to cross on red light.

I need you to need me

I want to arise the awareness of the fact that everyone needs to feel they've been needed, and it's ok to admit we're needy sometimes. To do that, I made two "needy objects", they need the owner's attentions to make them work. One is an alarm clock, to stop the alarm, the owner needs to hug it. The other one is a speaker, the volume will go crazy when the owner is not around. The owner needs to pet it to make it calm down. To see more: http://ineedyoutoneedme.com. Submitted by Elim Cheng.

Windcar

2009-12-16 08:51 - 0 Comments

It's simple, you add a windmill to the top of the car. Which is connected to the motor and to the battery. All you have to do is is start up the car like normal with fuel, then once you get going, the windmill spins and provides energy for the motor. The battery of the car can charge up and last the car for 10-20 minutes without the windmill spinning, so you can keep power at stoplights etc. The windmill car isn't about not using fuel for cars. It's about using less fuel (only for start-up and back-up energy).

Pedestrian Light

There's nothing better than fun pedestrian crossing!
The new pedestrian crossing light up when the traffic lights go red.
That would benefit both, pedestrians and drivers:
1. the drivers would notice that the traffic light went red when he saw the lines of light lighting up (the lines would only light up when the pedestrian could cross the street)
2. the pedestrians would know when they could cross the street (when the lines light up) and will be encouraged to cross over the pedestrian crossing (the right place to cross the street)

Colourful meal

Kids are eating less vegetables and more meat and fast food products. These refined foods are bad both for the organism and because of the intensive resources they require. This behavior should be changed towards eating more fruits, vegetables and less refined products, from a young age.

This is way kind should be motivated to eat vegetables. The idea is to let the kid choose what to eat and then give him/her pencils, in each of the colors of the chosen foods, and a contour figure to color. Varied food intake, more colors for drawing!

Diet elevator

Diet elevator

I have identified a problem in buildings which have a reduced number of floors and an elevator. People choose to use the elevator instead of climbing the stairs, which can often be faster and better for physical fitness, but can also mean economy of electricity. In order to change this kind of behavior, we will implement the diet elevator. This elevator contains a weighting machine in the floor. Elevators anyhow have pressure sensor but this will be more precise and will give the exact weight of the person from the elevator, by using an electronic screen placed on the elevator’s wall.

People don't pay for parking tickets in most of cases, at least here in Romania... To resolve this problem, I have thought, to make parking ticket machines interactive. Like You can see on my sketch, on the top of the parking ticket machine is a photo camera, which is in permanent contact with a face warp software. The camera takes the shout, the software makes hes job, so, on the parking ticket everybody can see a cartoon about himself. I think, much more people would pay for parking in this way.

The Trash Gnome

2009-11-07 21:56 - 0 Comments

What happens when you throw something in the trash? Well, a small gnome stores it underground, that's what happens. In a long trashcan with a monitor on top, deposited trash first falls to a platform with a blue-screen where pictures from several angles are taken and a 3d model of the trashed object is then built and inserted into a 3D animation where a gnome/monster stores the trash carefully. further interaction could be acomplished by enabling reaction from the gnome to sound or movement.

Bus Stop Sight Seeing

Waiting at the bus stop may be boring. You would probably be waiting on the bench and getting tired, and bored with nothing to do. You would be sending text messages or maybe playing with your fingers. The bus is very late because of the traffic, and precious minutes are ticking off the clock. Minutes might become hours. Waiting for the bus to come would take ages.

Can we get more people to replace bottled water for drinking fountains by making it fun to do?
BIG PROBLEM: Plastic bottles can take up to 1000 years to biodegradate and currently only 10% of almost 40'000'000 bottles consumed a day worlwide is properly recycled. Bottled water consumed in America in one year requires over 1'500'000 barrels of oil, enough to power up 250,000 homes in the same year.

Airport International Lingo

Most airports provide an automatic walkway for people to either rest as they head towards their gate or get there a bit quicker when walking. Unfortunately, these too require the use of much electricity by keeping them running all day, every day. As someone who is interested in other languages myself, I believe that there are many people out there who are as well and would take the no-walkway route to hear some phrases in different languages.

The problem is that sometime people go to the restroom and they donot wash their hand with soap. The solution is to make the soap machines fun. My soap machine have four buttons, you have to figure out which one is the one that gives you liquid soap. Every time you click in one of the four buttons and it doesnt give you the soap it will take out bubbles and make the sound bip and said it is wrong. If you click in the correct one it will give you the liquid soap and advice that why it is important to use soap and it will make more bubbles.

Hubert the Gumball Dog

Humane societies are often understaffed and crowded, yet it is difficult to get awareness into communities and encourage people to donate. However, many do have a certain weakness to two things – cute animals and delicious candy. Hubert, the mascot of a humane society, needs your help. When you donate to Hubert’s hungry tummy, he will reward you with a wonderfully bright gumball from his bum bum. Our furry friend will be placed in public places such as malls and grocery stores. Donating to a good cause has never been more silly or fun than this.
